Coming off a 20-win season last year, finishing just short of the NCAC tournament, Ohio Wesleyan enters the 2025 season with one goal in mind: “Chillicothe”. Making the conference tournament is the clear goal for The Battling Bishops this year, and the team believes they have the talent and depth to get there.

After losing a strong senior class, the Bishops face the challenge of filling key roles both on the mound and throughout the field. The losses leave big shoes to fill, but an eager wave of fresh talent is ready for their turn to make an impact. Multiple players who may not have seen much on-field action within the past year are looking to take on bigger roles, and the coaching staff is confident in their ability to rise to the occasion.
Several key returners stand out as essential pieces in their search for victory. Leading the charge on the mound is junior Parker Tomlin, an experienced arm who battled injury last year is now expecting a breakout season. With a five pitch mix and a heavy fastball, Parker plans to extend his starts into meaningful games this year.
After finishing last year's season batting .303 with 12 innings on the mound, Zane Vitense looks to bring his two-way talent both at first base and on the rubber. Searching for another successful season, Vitense plans to be named to the NCAC All-Conference Team for the third year in a row.
Senior center fielder Sammy Stoner is a dynamic force in both offense and defense. Known for his quick speed and exceptional range, he covers the outfield with ease, making difficult catches look routine. Batting .338 on last year's season, Stoner also plans to join Vitense on the NCAC All-Conference Team for the third year in a row as well.
The Bishops open the 2025 season in Johnson City, Tennessee, against Ferrum College on March 1st. The home opener is slated for March 4th at Littick Field against Otterbein University, first pitch at 3 p.m. As the weather warms up, there is no better time to come out and support. The excitement of college baseball awaits you this season! Head down to Littick Field to catch the Bishops in action this spring.
