On March 5th, the North Coast Athletic Conference announced their Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Year.
For both sports, the NCAC ranks among the top conferences in the country, and the Player of the Year award is an incredibly impressive achievement for any student-athlete.
For the 2024-2025 season, Ohio Wesleyan produced both Players of the Year, Henry Hinkle and Kasey Schipfer.
Hinkle, the senior Guard for the Bishops, has put together an incredibly impressive career over his time at Ohio Wesleyan. As a four year starter, he has compiled over 1700 points and 300 assists. The Powell native put together three All-NCAC seasons in his career, including two first team selections.
In 2024-2025, Hinkle averaged 19.6 points per game on 49% from the field, making him one of the most efficient volume scorers in the conference. He led the Bishops to the NCAC semifinals, having a magnificent two games in the tournament. Hinkle had 28 points in the Bishops’ win against Depauw and 27 in a narrow loss to Denison in his final game in the red and black.
Earning Player of the Year honors in 2024-2025, Hinkle becomes OWU’s eighth in the past thirteen seasons.
Kasey Schipfer took home Player of the Year honors for the Bishops in this past season.
With this year’s win, Schipfer became the only Women’s Basketball player in North Coast Atlantic Conference history to be named Player of the Year three times.
A favorite for National Player of the Year honors this year, Schipfer led the Bishops to a regular season NCAC championship, averaging 19.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and over two steals per game. As the Bishops enter the NCAA tournament, look for Schipfer to continue her dominance.
